Some New Things We Love About Jessa...

1. When she says "oh" after dropping something.
2. The way she lines her toys up in the window seal to play with them.
   
3. How she says "hey" to everyone (it's not "hi" anymore, it's "hey!")
4. The way she puts her sippy cup in the cup holder part of her high chair tray when she's not drinking from it.
5. When she goes from window to window watching Daddy mow the yard.
6. The way she gently puts her binky on the floor when she's done with it (if it's not binky side up, she moves it so it is: the OCD is starting already!).
7. How she dances from side to side when she hears music.
8. The way she puts both hands over her eyes when playing peek-a-boo.
9. How she bounces up and down when we say "bouncy, bouncy".
10. How she pushes Chance to the ground and lays on him like a pillow (he doesn't mind one bit: just purrs!).

She's So Much Fun!

Jessa continues to entertain us on a regular basis! She's constantly on the go and has started doing some new cute things, like dancing to music and giving you a cheesy smirk when you tell her to smile. Here are a few new pictures of our growing girl!




Grandma and Grandpa Switzer got Jessa a playhouse for outside. She loves it! This is her first time playing in it and one of my new favorite pictures!

She was overwhelmed with excitement when she first rode in the wagon Grandma and Grandpa Switzer got for her! Another new favorite picture of mine!

Jessa's One-Year Pictures

We had Jessa's one-year pictures taken...twice. At attempt number one, Jessa was just not in the mood for pictures. This was the first time we could not get smiles out of her for pictures. A couple days later we found out why: she had two more teeth break through we didn't know about (that makes a total of 12 teeth). No wonder!! Attempt number two went much better, but we still had to improvise! We came prepared with our laptop and one of her Mickey Mouse DVDs. The photographer said we were smart: we said "no, we're desperate!"

Jessa had her first birthday last week. It's hard to believe she's one year old. Time really does fly and it really is amazing how much she's changed in only one year's time! She went from seven pounds to almost nineteen pounds, walking and talking with ten teeth!

She did really well at her party and loved the giant cupcake and ice cream we had for her! She's definitely our daughter though: kept things pretty clean and easy to clean up! Thank you to everyone for all the wonderful gifts. She's such a lucky girl! We hope you enjoy some of her birthday pictures. She had fun dropping her favorite toys on the hard floor and repositioning the chairs throughout the room!

Remember how I told you Jessa likes the Beverly Hills 90210 music? Well, I got her on video when an episode came on the other day. As you'll see, she kinda gets in a trance when the music starts but soon forgets about it when the song is over!

Things We Love About Jessa

1. When she laughs. It is the most beautiful and contagious sound!
2. The way she turns on her musical fish aquarium when she wakes up from a nights sleep or nap. This is her signal that she's ready to get up!
3. How she lays her head on everything: stuffed animals, the ottomans, her Elmo rocker, pillows, the cat. ..
   
4. The way she goes to her bedroom and gets her favorite blankie when she's ready for a nap or bed.
   
5. How she stops whatever she's doing to stare at the TV when the Beverly Hills 90210 theme music comes on. (this would be Amy's doing since she watches 90210 reruns on weekend mornings!)
6. When she takes her binkie out and hands it to you when she knows it's time to eat.
7. How excited she gets when the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse comes on TV.
8. The way she turns her head and leans into your face so you can whisper a secret in her ear.
9. How ticklish she is! The feet, the arms, the neck and especially behind the upper leg!
   
10. When she smiles so big her eyes squint shut and she shows all them teeth!
11. The way she props her left foot up on the arm of her highchair while she's drinking her sippy cup.
12. The way she dances and laughs when the "Hot Dog" dance comes on at the end of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse episodes.
13. The way she claps after she stacked her blocks or put a shaped block in the correct bucket opening.
    
14. When she goes around her room to touch all the Winnie the Pooh stickers before going to bed.

We could fill this page with things we love about Jessa! Her "little quirks" are adorable!
