Christmas 2009

Jessa had a great Christmas in 2009! She quickly learned how to say "Santa" and "Ho Ho Ho"! Santa brought her a kitchen set, house slippers, and a few other fun items. She also got to see and play in the snow...A LOT of it too! She wasn't quite as into tearing open the packages like I thought she would be, but she still had a lot of fun and we had a lot of fun watching her excitement.

End of Summer Pictures

Jessa was a lot of fun this summer. She loves swimming, playing outside on her play gym, going for walks, and of course, swinging! She enjoyed going to the zoos too. We went to the Omaha Zoo last month. It was our first time too and it was great! Nicest zoo we've been to and we'll definitely go back. Here are some pictures of the last part of Summer.

A Trip to the Zoo

We took Jessa to the zoo for the first time last weekend. She started the day very energetic: walking with us and helping push the stroller. By early afternoon, she couldn't keep her eyes open!

She had fun petting the sheep and sharing ice cream with daddy. When she saw the lions she smiled and said "kitty!" She seemed to like the monkeys best, so we got her a stuffed one. That evening she carried it around and hugged it so tight we expected the eyes to pop off! We also taught her to make monkey sounds: so cute!!

Jessa's New Play Gym

We got Jessa a play gym for outside. Found it on Craigs List at a really good buy: 1/4 the price of a new one (sorry, had to brag about our good deal!). It didn't take her long to figure out how to climb up the slide, then go back down. She likes going in and out the playhouse door too. In no time she was climbing the stairs and sliding down by herself. She's getting so big!

Summer Fun!

Uncle Gene and Aunt Roberta visited last month. It was great to see them and Jessa's first time meeting them. She warmed up to them right away!

Aunt Roberta showed Jessa how to take pictures with a camera: she took some great shots! And Uncle Gene enjoyed pushing her in her swing. That of course, is the fastest way to become Jessa's buddy!!

We also go some shots of Jessa playing outside this summer. Here are a few of her favorite things to do! She loves Grandma and Grandpa Switzer's tractors! Likes bouncing on the seats and going for rides. Wish my grandpa was here to see it: he'd say "just like you did when you were a kid!"

Took her a little bit to get used to playing in the water with a diaper and bathing suit on ,but
once she understood it was okay she had a blast!

Jessa had a playdate with her buddy Addy., who is about 4 months older. They played well together. It was fun watching Jessa learn to share her toys with Addy, and Addy was very patient until Jessa decided to share them!

Some New Things We Love About Jessa...

  1. When she says "oh" after dropping something.
  2. The way she lines her toys up in the window seal to play with them.
  3. How she says "hey" to everyone (it's not "hi" anymore, it's "hey!")
  4. The way she puts her sippy cup in the cup holder part of her high chair tray when she's not drinking from it.
  5. When she goes from window to window watching Daddy mow the yard.
  6. The way she gently puts her binky on the floor when she's done with it (if it's not binky side up, she moves it so it is: the OCD is starting already!).
  7. How she dances from side to side when she hears music.
  8. The way she puts both hands over her eyes when playing peek-a-boo.
  9. How she bounces up and down when we say "bouncy, bouncy".
  10. How she pushes Chance to the ground and lays on him like a pillow (he doesn't mind one bit: just purrs!).

She's So Much Fun!

Jessa continues to entertain us on a regular basis! She's constantly on the go and has started doing some new cute things, like dancing to music and giving you a cheesy smirk when you tell her to smile. Here are a few new pictures of our growing girl!

Grandma and Grandpa Switzer got Jessa a playhouse for outside. She loves it! This is her first time playing in it and one of my new favorite pictures!

Remember that smirk I mentioned??

Watching Mickey Mouse cartoons.

Getting curious about the camera!

She looks so big in this picture!

Only a one-year old is that flexible!

Ballerina Jessa!

She was overwhelmed with excitement when she first rode in the wagon Grandma and Grandpa Switzer got for her! Another new favorite picture of mine!

Jessa's One-Year Pictures

We had Jessa's one-year pictures taken...twice. At attempt number one, Jessa was just not in the mood for pictures. This was the first time we could not get smiles out of her for pictures. A couple days later we found out why: she had two more teeth break through we didn't know about (that makes a total of 12 teeth). No wonder!! Attempt number two went much better, but we still had to improvise! We came prepared with our laptop and one of her Mickey Mouse DVDs. The photographer said we were smart: we said "no, we're desperate!"
